President & COO
Michael is a pharmaceutical executive with 36 years of leadership across portfolio strategy, commercial operations, corporate development, and technology — a rare combination that has made him one of the industry’s most versatile and results-oriented senior leaders.
Most recently serving as Division Vice President and Head of Corporate Portfolio Management at Unilab Health Group, Michael operated at the highest levels of organizational strategy, leading enterprise-wide portfolio governance and presenting predictive analytics-driven reviews directly to the Board. His signature achievement: building the company’s first formal Portfolio Management Office, a structural innovation that streamlined pipeline advancement and reduced time-to-market by 30%. Under his leadership, capital allocation became sharper, scenario planning more rigorous, and portfolio decisions more defensible.
His tenure at Unilab spans over a decade in progressively senior roles, where he managed a diverse portfolio encompassing generics, branded medicines, OTCs, and biosimilars — while forging partnerships with R&D and Business Development teams to advance licensing projects and build the valuation models that guide long-term growth.
Before Unilab, Michael held director-level roles at Merck Sharp & Dohme Philippines, where he drove CRM innovation that doubled sales force productivity and transformed territory planning through analytics. Earlier in his career at Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis), he built foundational expertise in marketing services and product launch strategy.
A graduate of the University of the Philippines with a BS in Statistics, Michael also completed the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School — finishing at the top of his class. His statistical foundation and executive mindset converge in a leadership style that is equally comfortable with data and with people.
Michael is now bringing this depth of experience to Biotuned Health, where he is charged with a bold mandate: leading the company to billion-peso operations and establishing it as a formidable force in the Philippine health and wellness industry.
